Here's some preliminary info on a 6-day September tour in the Sierra
Nevada Mountains: (Dang! I can't go...due to playing piano at a weeding!)

Yes, the dates are set: We meet Labor Day Sept 5th in
Columbia
and ride the 6th through the 11th back to Columbia. First
day is leisurely and an exploring day from Columbia to
Dardanelle. Then over Sonora and Monitor Passes to Grover
Hot Springs with a couple of longer and looong options. The
third day is a lay over day at GHS with options. The fourth
day we eventually climb Old Meyers Grade through Echo Summit
and make our way to Silver Lake (back on Hwy 88) maximizing
our time at the higher elevations. The next day we descend
to Indian Grinding Rock State Park with some longer options
around Sutter Creek. And on the final day we traverse at
least part of Sheep Ranch Rd. to get back to Columbia.
Price, due to the rather low number of (quality) riders
expected is pegged at $425.
Our cook, Sarah Auker, has been said to "redefine taste and
nutrition", so there is a damn good chance that you will not
be disappointed in the dinners.
Hence, "Supper Tour"!
The mileages are rather mild, in the most part, although
there will be chances to add on. But lots of good, stiff
climbing!
