Kori Kunz
In the interest of:
1)gaining a good size showing of women racers at the
last race of the (road) season--Eugene Celebration
2)having a fun, encouraging group to train with
3)being coached (for free) on some of those pesky
little racing and riding techniques that we're usually
expected to learn by osmosis
4)and, as a bonus, getting fit for cyclocross season
if you're into that
I invite all of you who love to ride and race your
bicycles, regardless of category or team, to join me
and Norman Babcock (impersonating a rather ugly woman
with a long, gray braid--sorry Norm, you're a handsome
man, but quite homely as a gal), and a group of other
women racers on a regular weekly training schedule.
On Mondays and Wednesdays we do easy rides and
practice various skills (pack riding, cornering,
paceline, etc.). Meet Monday at 6:00 on 5th Ave in
front of Nike, Wednesday same place at 5:45.
On Tuesdays we practice racing at the Eugene Twilight
Crit Series--depending on your category you can join
the 4/5 men at 6:00, or try to sit in with me in the
1/2/3 men's field at 7:00. If 5 women show up to any
one race, then they'll be scored separately from the
men (we had exactly 5 in last night's 4/5 race).
Thursdays we'll be running the Thursday nighter ten
minutes ahead of the men and trying to stay with the
group when(if?) they catch us. Meet at 5:00 at 18th
and Pearl (east side of Safeway/Hirons parking lot),
or at Church corner (Lorane, Spencer Crk, Bailey Hill)
warmed up and ready to ride at 5:25.
Fridays do an easy ride on your own schedule and
Saturdays and Sundays vary.
If you have any questions please feel free to email or
call me (687-1416), and I hope to see you out there.
Cheers,
Kori Kunz
