Doug Ollerenshaw has agreed to coach the Tuesday Night PIR Handicap Novice

race starting September 6. Doug will work with cat 4 and 5 riders prior to

the start of the 6:00 pm novice race. He will discuss paceline technique,

identify a few things to work on during the race, and then ride the first

3-4 laps of the race with the group in order to give feedback.



The PIR Handicap Series is a "cat and mouse" style event, where the cat 5

riders will be given a head start. They will work in a paceline, in an

attempt to stay away from the cat 4 riders, who will start aproximately

30-45 seconds behind. All riders will be completing the same number of

laps, and are competing for the same hot spot points and overall finish

points.



Ollerenshaw is just completing his first season as a pro rider with

Healthnet. He handed his team a surprise victory earlier in the year at

the Sea Otter Classic. Previous wins include stages of the Grand Prix

Cycliste de Beauce this year, and the Tour de 'Toona in 2004. Doug has

also picked up KOM wins at Sea Otter, and the USPRO championship in 2004.



Doug will be joined by several other pro or cat 1 amateur riders coaching

the novice PIR events in September. For more information about the series,
