I'm not hooked up to OBRA Chat, so would you please forward this e-mail

I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone in OBRA land for the
absolutely amazing outpouring of support and love shown to Chauncey,
Tessa and I following my bike accident. We were overwhelmed with the
amount of caring and kindness shown to us and feel so blessed to be a
part of this community of wonderful people. There aren't enough words to
express how thankful we are to all those who have helped us.
A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to the meals that were
delivered to Chauncey, Tessa and I. How did you all know that Chauncey
can't cook ? Seriously, they were a life saver. Without the food
deliveries we would have been eating canned soup every day. The meals
were incredible and I would recommend Cheryl Austin's Moveable Feast
services without hesitation. In fact, I'm trying to figure out how to
get a raise at work so I can afford to have her deliver meals all the
time !
And another huge thank you to everyone who offered to come sit with
Tessa and I, so that Chauncey could get away from his women for awhile.
We weren't able to take everyone up on their offers, but nonetheless
they were greatly appreciated.
And of course, thank you to everyone for the phone calls, e-mails
thoughts and prayers. It has helped ease the tedium of recovery to know
that you are all out there.
For those curious , here is an update: I broke 2 bones in my pelvic
girdle in 3 different places and my sacrum (lower back) looks like a
little jigsaw puzzle, so it will take some time to heal. But the breaks
were in "good" places and there shouldn't be any long term issues. It
will just take time and patience ( not really my strong suit ) to get
back to normal. I am incredibly thankful and lucky that this is the
extent of my injuries. It really could have been SO much worse. The
driver admitted fault, but of course they did not have insurance. ( It's
never the responsible people who hit you ). They were cited and had
their car taken away.
Again, thank you to everyone. We are so lucky to have you all in our
lives ! Just be careful and aware out there on the roads , whether you
are behind the handlebars or steering wheel.

Ps- Chauncey is being nominated for Sainthood after having to take care
of both Tessa and I 24hrs a day for the past month. Really not an
enviable task, he deserves serious kudos for his patience and cheerful
willingness.
