Mtb riders/racers, if you had to have one bike for the season would you go full suspension or hardtail?
Cheers.

Also let's not forget that some of the racers with families out there transfer their weekend adventures to family fun once it dries out. camping, canoeing, small mouth bass fishing, playing at the beach, and traveling to see their aunty-Chris in LA.
it's easier for a family guy to go race in the rain and grit of the spring, avoid the stage races and then hit the summer crits here and there.

We would definitely have more racers participating if there would be an option of 1-day races vs stage. I enjoy the stage races but have heard that others just do not attend do to travel, cost and the competition level. Just an observation.

How about someone putting on 2 road races after the stage race season. Crits are good and you have good weather. There needs to be a couple of single day races in August or maybe July. I am taking time off from promoting/organizing races but I am thinking about doing a single day race that is just east of Portland.

most of the single day road races are in the spring, followed by stage
race season, then theres just basically a few crits (im not counting
local PIR/eugene crit type of things) to finish the summer off.
personally, if there were road races i could look forward to all summer
id rather do those than do all the stage races and burning out from
racing so continuously. i wouldnt mind taking some time off late spring
by skipping the $$intensive stage races, then recharging for more road
races (and crits) in the summer, knowing that i had a lot more single
day stuff to look forward to.
road racing rules. id love to see more of it, all
