Instead of complaining about the lack of road races during the summer,

show up to the races during a summer and bring a friend. Promotors put

on races based on several factors.

One of those factors is how many people will show and will it be worth

their effort. If you look at the amount of people showing up to the

road races during the summer vs the spring, I believe you will find a

big drop.

So instead of complaining about the lack of, do something about it and

show up, bring a friend and make sure the attendence is high. We can all

say that we want more, but we ALL aren't showing up then it is just

talk. If more races have high attendance during the summer the more

races will be put on. It is called supply and demand.

Actually, this year's race had the best attendance of any of them. The

past races scheduled in the summer often had smaller fields. I believe

that is why they moved it.

This conversation started with a question about when the Silverton RR

should

be held...I was there this year in the cold rain, and attendance was

poor.

Given a choice, I think we would all prefer to ride when the roads are

dry

and the air is warm. A warmer race date would have undoubtedly produced

a

larger, more competitive and more profitable race.
