Oh actually I forgot.......the little 500 did add a cyclocross race,
using the little 500 single speeds, a few years ago.
Their version of a cyclocross race is a little cleaner than
the race I am envisioning.

Sure, the Little 500 is a great event, but claiming that the relay idea
came from there, might just be stretching it a little bit. Madison track
races (relays), have been around more than 100 years, and there were
other bicycle relays in the late 1800's. The ancient Greeks have that
beat though, with running relays before 800 BC.

30,000 fans. Even the sororities on campus have race teams.
