It is more important in cyclocross then the other disciplines for all

the riders in the same field have the same series of numbers. In the

race this weekend 3 riders in the C field were given #'s that

corresponded in the masters. When they start to mix it is near

impossible to sort that out. I worked on results until after 11 pm and

then had 3 emails the next day that riders had ridden with different

sequences. So I had to redo it all. We could issue one set of ccx

numbers for the year if, and only if all the race organizers ran the

same categories. But they didn't.

From a riders standpoint if you want to be scored correctly make sure

that your number sequences matches the ones that you line up with.

Thanks for being there Sunday and making things roll so smoothly. It

was my first time promoting an event, and I'm really happy with how it

turned out. I think everyone had a great time. I'm really impressed

with OBRA as a whole, both from a racers, and promoters perspective.

Also, do you have a canned response for why we use different numbers

in cyclocross? I know it is mostly because the road and cross

categories do not align perfectly, and thats what I was telling

everyone. I must have answered that question 50 times on Sunday, and

had to argue with a guy who wanted to wear his cloth road number. He

"didn't want to tell me how to do my job, but..." anyway, it'd

probably do good for everyone to hear it again from you.
