One question about this: What day is between Saturday the 29th and
Sunday the 31st?
I sometimes feel like I'm missing something...

In an attempt to put a schedule on Saturday's Halloween Cyclocross
Fest, here is a rough description and timeline of activities for this
weekend's Cyclocross Crusade event at the Flying M Ranch. Realize
that these times are suggested only.....do not go stage yourself on
your trainer at the start of the clunker race, hoping to get a front
row spot.
*As always, consult www.crosscrusade.com
<http://www.crosscrusade.com> for the real skinny on the real series
race and other info.*
*Saturday, October 29th*
* Pumpkin lobotomies (all day)
* Bicycle petting zoo (all day)
* Poker ride (starting around 1:30pm)
* Hash Run (hounds gather at 3:30pm- hares depart at 4:00PM)- what
is a hash? see http://www.oregonhhh.org/spanky/whatis.html#A1_3
* clunker race on course (only clunkers allowed) @ 5:30pm.
Depending on # of participants and available bikes, we may run
heats.
* Skidding contest (for distance and accuracy) - held off the back
porch of the Sawtooth Lounge (concurrently w/ halloween party)
* Bike 'Derby of Doom'- held off the back porch of the Sawtooth
Lounge (concurrently w/ halloween party)
* Halloween Costume Party in the Sawtooth Lounge (9pm-2am):
Costume contest (special prizes), food & drink specials and live
music by 'Porterhouse'
* Restaurant is open all day Saturday until 10pm.
* Limited lodging options still available (almost sold out), but
there is copious amounts of camping still available. Call Kelly
@ the Flying M (503-662-3222) to make your reservations.
*Sunday, October 31st*
* XC footrace (see www.xdogevents.com <http://www.xdogevents.com/>
for more info)
* Cyclocross Crusade Series Race #4
<http://www.crosscrusade.com/flyers/2005/october_30.html>
* Racers in costume get $5 off. Wearing a yellow jersey and
calling yourself Lance does not count. We're talking a real
costume here. Special awards will be given to the best costumes.
* Restaurant opens @ 7:30am with a nice breakfast buffet and will
be open all day.
I know I don't really need to say the following, but I will anyway as
a gentle reminder. Make sure we are all good patrons to the lovely
people at the Flying M Ranch. Have fun and get crazy in a safe
environment, but be mindful we are guests at this gem of a facility.
Make sure we all let the employees and owners of Flying M know how
much we all appreciate having a premier venue for our halloween race.
See you all this weekend!
