They were talking about it the other morning on KINK radio station.
Pretty Cool!!!

This is interesting. The Portland Police have been distributing lights
to cyclists. I was not aware of this, and I wish it were given more
publicity (it could have been in the Oregonian, but I seldom read it).
Earlier we were questioning the attitude of law enforcement regarding
cyclists (I am happy to say that the statistics demonstrated support),
and here was a favorable action that seemed to have been lost somehow.
The police deserve commendation for actions like these, and this is an
important contribution to cyclist safety.

Hey folks,
Sorry for the late notice but this is important...
The national tv show, CBS News Sunday Morning is putting together a
bunch of "good news" stories from around the country to run on their
Thanksgiving edition. They heard about the Portland police handing out
lights to cyclists and they want to include this story in their piece.
They called Greg Raisman at PDOT, he told her to call me, and know I'm
getting in touch with all of you.
They'll be here tomorrow at 1:00 to interview local cyclists for the
story! I need 4-5 of you to show up at Fresh Pot on N. Mississippi (or
perhaps a different location yet to be decided).
Please let me know if you can make it!
