The Death Valley Supper Camp has been rescheduled to the last week of

February. A full week of bicycling in a generally warm, dry, and rather

exotic location.

Death Valley has many miles of

gently rolling terrain on the valley floor, and a number of good

climbs to the east and west, all perfect for catching up on those

miles you?ve postponed all winter. We also hope to explore some

areas via hikes and mountain bikes, and are thinking about taking a

day to visit The Racetrack, located in the remote northwest area of

the park.

In addition, Furnace Creek Ranch has a non-chlorinated swimming pool,

available on a somewhat limited basis, which might be a great place

to relax and cross train before or after riding. There will be a

number of nighttime activities to choose from, the first and foremost

being discussions of the next day?s options. There will be

Ranger talks, Scrabble, Go, or simply relaxing.

The riding should be excellent. We plan to average about 50 miles

daily, although multiple options are available for those wishing for

more or less miles. The average high for this time of year is 72 and

the average low 46.

We call it ?Supper Camp? because our cook focuses on providing the

most nutritious and delicious dinners possible. Light breakfasts

(with Peets coffee) and lunches are also included. It will be up to

you to ride enough miles to not gain weight!

Death

Valley Century and Double Century. This year our camp coincides with

these events on March 4th. We know that there are some

riders might be interested and able to structure their week of

cycling around these separate events.

There is a limit of 35 for the DVSC.

When:

First night of camping is Feb. 25th. The first meal is

breakfast on the 26th. The last meal will be breakfast

March 5th.

Where:

Furnace Creek Campground, Group Camp H, Death Valley, California

Cost:

$350.

There

is an additional vehicle fee of $10 per car payable at the Visitor

Center in Furnace Creek upon arrival.

Showers

and/or use of the pool costs $3.00 at Furnace Creek Ranch.
