You shouldn't need the ice studs. You may want to plan for either wet mud
or frozen mud.
As far as warmers go, just slather on some Atomic Balm before the race.
Make sure you put your shorts on first and don't rub your eyes or forehead.
No batteries needed and dogs and bears will give you wide berth.
