Warning on specific vehicle

hmmm... I have seen this plate before!

Since 'it' lives in Washington, you can not go to the DMV and get driver

information, unless you present proof you are an insurance investigator

or police officer (Washington does things differently than Oregon in

this regard).

Still, I have seen this 'plate' in downtown Vanc on frequent occasins

(which is near to where I live), so it would be itnersting to get a look

at this 'tough guy'. He sounds like a real renaissance man.

I think for $7 or $10 bucks you can go to the DMV and get all the info

you

need to talk to that guy in person.. Would be so funny for critical mass

to

roll up at that guys door step and just say howdy jerk face...

Was this reported to the police? Sounds like they have some good suspect

info with the plate and driver description.

Hey guys - just wanted to let you know that a group of three female

riders

from Presto Velo/Bicycle Attorney.com were accosted by a man on the St.

John's bridge today. He was driving an SUV with Washington plates that

read

"Eat Out" - no I'm really not kidding. But point being, if he was

willing

to threaten, honk, swerve, and rant at three female cyclists, he'd

probably

do worse to you guys. He mentioned something about "Someday I'll win

this

battle...." whatever that means. Just a warning - he's pretty psycho.

Well I'm not so concerned about punishing him or scaring him (as funny as

that might be...) but more educating drivers in general. I know my own

brother said "God I HATE cyclists on the road" but when I talked to him

further what he hates are folks on bikes who have little spatial awareness

and no concept of vehicle code, who dart in and out of traffic and who have

no respect for pedestrians, vehicles, etc. He had almost no awareness of

law-abiding-cyclists who are out there for exercise, commuting, competition,

fun, who weren?t causing disruptions because they hadn?t done anything

obnoxious to spark his attention. After I started riding, he suddenly

started seeing the rest of us and noting that for the most part, cyclists

aren?t slowing cars down.

Now obviously anyone who would harass a couple of girls on bikes is someone

I can come up with a lot of creative insults for but that?s pretty useless.

He probably doesn?t know a single person who rides a bike for any reason.

So if anyone feels a call to action, I think the best thing to do is to

write either him or some publication that might reach him to say ?Hey ? some

of my comrades on bikes were obeying the law, trying to respect your space,

and getting some exercise and you threatened their safety. If it was your

mom, wife, or sister, you wouldn?t want someone harassing them for doing

what they are allowed to do by law and for following rules that they?re

obligated to follow. We don?t perceive this as a ?battle? and it?s not a

fight that either side is going to win. Calm down.?

Maybe if I have time, I?ll write something. For now, I?m just going to try

to stay out of the way of the ?EAT OUT?- mobile?
