Attention To All Serious Recreational Cyclists



The new Gold?s Gym in northwest Portland is now offering a new program

for serious cycling enthusiasts called Cycling for Gold. This is open to

the general public. Whether you are a serious endurance cyclist or a

fair weather rider, you will improve your fitness level and hone your

skills. The program is designed and managed by USAC certified cycling

coach, Mike Manning. The basic program is designed to meet all your

needs for fun and fitness. The group will meet weekly for training rides

followed by class discussion in a social setting. All participants will

have free training time on the CompuTrainer MultiRider System. In

addition, you will have the option to utilize the latest in cool tools

for cycling training. The first step is a professional fitting to ensure

that you are getting optimum performance from your bike. A variety of

tests will be available to ascertain your basic ability and fitness

level. In addition to the Wobblenaught laser fitting, you may use the

Computrainer power and efficiency analyzer, or the CardioCoach lactate

and VO2 analyzer. The first class meets January 7. There will be a limit

of 10 participants. The cost is only $100 per month with an enrollment
