The Lonely Planet publishes a book specifically on cycling in New Zealand.
I used it on a two week bike trip to NZ last Dec/Jan (you can read about my
trip here http://www.teamestrogen.com/adventures/nz.asp ) Here's a link to
the book: http://shop.lonelyplanet.com/product_detail.cfm?productID=917 I
found it to be an excellent resource, usually spot on in terms of mileage
and services available en route. It's from 2003, so you can expect that
quoted prices are a little dated, but otherwise it was accurate. I also
found that it's suggested hostels were usually quite comfortable and very
reasonably priced.
Always happy to chat off-list if you need more info.

Any one in ORBA land have any cycling maps of New Zealand they would
like to part with, or know of some good ones?
Dan.
