The Big Fix tour will average 120 miles per day from California to

Massachusetts between June 17 and July 14. That's already a strenuous 28-day

schedule, but there's more: Riders must be "primarily" on single-speed,

fixed-gear bikes. That's right: no coasting coast to coast, and no shifting

down for hills and mountains. This is a charity ride to benefit the

Histiocytosis Association of America. Histiocytosis is similar to cancer but

it's so rare that funding for research is limited. Ride details at
