Whether you?re battling for a top spot in the Oregon BAR or testing your

fitness, the annual Oregon State Time Trial is the event for learning how

you measure up. This is a new course for 2001!

Course Description:

The 40-kilometer out-and-back course runs south on River Road in Marion

beginning approximately 500 meters south of St. Paul, OR. The course is on

good to excellent pavement with no more than 15 meters of elevation change

total.

Start Time:

First rider off promptly at 8:00 am. Riders start at one-minute intervals.

Course map and start times will be posted at www.emeraldvelo.org. Final

times will also be available at the Emerald Velo Web site.

Directions to Course:

Take I-5 to the Ehlen Rd exit and drive west. Ehlen Rd becomes Yergen Rd.

and then Gearin Rd NE. Take Gearin Rd to River Rd. and head south to St.

Paul. The check-in table and Porta-Potties will be located at the St. Paul

Middle School in beautiful downtown St. Paul.

Start Order:

All OBRA categories plus tandems will be racing. Although the Oregon State

Time Trial is open to all riders, only OBRA members will receive medals.

Following are the categories in starting order with race length marked if

less than full distance:

10K -- Juniors 10-12, Juniors 13-14, Junior 15-16 (20k)

20K -- Juniors 17-18, Masters Women 55+, Masters Men 65+

Tandems (mixed & men), Masters Women (30-39, 40-49, 50-54), Masters Men

(60-64, 55-59, 50-54, 45-49, 40-44, 35-39, 30-34,), Women 4/5, Senior

Women, Men 4/5, Senior Men.

Send standard OBRA entry form and $15 fee ($8 for Juniors) by August 15,

You must be an OBRA rider to compete. Day of race: single day ($5) and

annual licenses ($15) available for purchase on site.

Prizes:

Medals to top three in each category. Double BAR points for OBRA Best All

Round Rider Competition.

Important:

?       Riders warming up must obey all traffic laws and ride no more than

2 abreast.

?       NO WARMUP ALLOWED ON THE COURSE! Bring your trainer and warm up in

the parking area. Riders will be directed to appropriate roads on which to

warm up.

?       Be courteous to traffic and homeowners because good courses are

hard to find.

?       NO PARKING ON THE ROADWAY. CARS PARKED ILLEGALLY WILL BE TOWED! To

help alleviate parking problems, please car-pool.

?       PLEASE BE COURTEOUS! The St. Paul School District is allowing us

the use of the Middle School as a staging area. Please? lets leave the

place in better shape then before we got there!

Come in time for your race, but not too early.

?       OBRA number on right hip.

?       Porta-Potties on site.

?       Bring your own water.
