Hey all you bog trotting 'cross crusaders......

The final race of 2001 River City Bicycles Cyclo-Cross Crusade Series is

nearly upon us.

Date: Sunday, December 2nd

Place: King Estate Winery (Eugene, Oregon)

The King Estate Winery promises to be one of the most scenic cyclo-cross

courses in the country. Add to that the fact that it is the final

series race (worth double points) and the District Championships for

Oregon and you have all the ingredients for an epic day of racing. This

brand new to Oregon cyclo-cross course promises to be challenging but

fast with plenty of room for passing. It has long, fast and fun

descents, smooth pavement climbs, many traverses through the vineyard

and a commensurate amount of mud (if the weather cooperates) to balance

things out. The course is designed to facilitate formation of groups of

riders which make for good "races within the race", which are always

enjoyable for racers and spectators alike.

Not only will there be fine cyclo-cross racing but the venue itself

offers wine tasting, winery tours and stunning scenery with great photo

opportunities. The Eugene organizing team has worked hard to bring this

final race a festival type atmosphere including multiple food vendors.

Bring your non-riding friends to cheer you on and to celebrate the

conclusion of another outstanding cycling season in Oregon.

So remember on Thanksgiving to push back from the table just a little

earlier than usual so there are no regrets on the run-ups. See you at

King Estate Winery on December 2nd. Cowbells welcome.
