I too was disappointed that the Masters field was so small. That certainly is

not Larry's fault. It is a self perpetuating problem. We need to go out and

support the race if we want a good sized Masters category.



Larry considered not having a separate event for Masters this year, since it

has been so poorly attended the last couple of years. It is a money losing

proposition for him to provide all the extra support necessary to host a

field of 20 riders. He did it anyway, knowing it would probably cost him. In

the past I have criticized some of the things that were done at TW, but not

this time. Thanks Larry for giving me the opportunity to race.

As a Masters racer that didn't attend, there was one thing that kept a

large number of us away from the race this weekend. It was Easter. With

wives and families that often are accomodating of the hours that we spend

training, the conflict with family plans was unavoidable. Remember

"Chariots of Fire"? Those of us with strong Christian religious

convictions would not have attended either. The benefit of Masters

racing, is racing with peers. As a cat 4 Masters, there were very few if

any "peers" that I saw in the TOW Masters field.
