Hello Candi and Mike-

How are things in P-town?? Hey, had a question for you all. Was wondering if you can print this email on the obra website and anything else that you think might help iteamNOVA.com gain members and help our team make the starting line in these European races. The team is really starting to do well, and we have a great director with ex-professional (Sean Yates). My form is coming around and I am racing better each week. We are planning to come to U.S. Pro Championships in June, and would love to see you there. Also, if you could send me any email addresses of clubs and teams or forward this email to them that would be great. The more people know about this member based Professional Cycling Team the better. If you haven't checked out the website, please do so. Hope to see you guys a bit later this season, maybe at Cascade Classic?? Take care - Aaron

ITEAMNOVA.COM – HAVE YOU JOINED THE RIDE?

iteamNova.com, the new professional cycling team is seeking

support from global sporting fans.

The team exists by means of a membership concept, whereby

cycling fans can subscribe to the team via the Internet and

thus assist in the funding and existence of the team.

In its ideological form, the members as a collective replace

the major sponsor and take on an ownership role in the team.

Members receive exclusive benefits from the subscription.

Founder of the team Susan Stewart, the wife of David

McKenzie, came up with the idea after the dramatic demise of

the Linda McCartney team in which McKenzie had been a key

rider.

It came from a realisation of the devastation that the

withdrawal of a major sponsor can cause and address ways to

diversify the funding of a professional team.

iteamNova.com, was launched in December 2001 and is now

established in Europe and contesting an international

calendar of events.

The hard work of getting the team together with some great

people on board including Sean Yates (sports director) and

putting together a good racing calendar is done.

However, now the team is appealing to the sporting public to

get behind the initiative and take out subscriptions.

With a AUD$55 for an eMembership (entitling members to all

the on-line benefits) and AUD$220 for full membership, the

team doesn't feel that the cost is prohibitive, so it is

appealing to all those people who have offered support to

take out a subscription, so the riders can get on with the

job of racing.

Stewart acknowledges that the team is aiming to attract about

3,000 more members to ensure the season is fully funded.

Given the global fan base of cycling, which is estimated in

billions, this is not a huge amount.

Moving into May and June are important racing months for the

team and in order to give the team the best chance of good

results, it need more members.

So everyone out there that has offered support – you can do

so by joining the ride!
