race Series starts in only 3 weeks...so get ready!! We ended the race
series in 2000 with RECORD TURNOUT, so lets keep that theme going in
2001! So spread the word on this great race series - bring out all your
riding buddies/partners!
New and Exciting Features at the 2001 Lakeside Bicycles Monday Night
Masters and Women PIR Series:
-Each week we will flip directions of racing.
-Babysitting will be provided by the talented Miss. Mindy Murray. Please
contact me for more info and arrangments/scheduling. A 1 week notice
will be required for her to be available. Payments will be made and
arranged through her. Any Questions just ask me!
-Age Graded and Category Racing will be switching every month, with a
new addition in September of handicap format racing. See race flyer,
below, for more info on cats./ages.
-For this years race in an effort to be proactive in alternative
transportation, I have made arrangements to discount $1.00 off your
entry fee if you bike commute to PIR, in return that $1.00 will be
donated to the Bicycle Transportation Alliance(BTA, www.bta4bikes.org).
-Online Registration is available up to 3pm on each race day, see race
flyer for more info or www.active.com/cycling and search for "Monday
Night PIR".
-As a added note, and a pre-caution the in-line skaters have moved to
monday nights. They start at 5:45 - end 6:15, see their registration
area at race for more info.
-Don't forget WOMEN racers that your race starts now at 6:15.

DIRECTIONS:
From I-5 take exit #306b west. The racetrack is located immediately west
of the freeway.
REGISTRATION:
All Riders, 5:00 to five minutes prior to your start time.
All Non-OBRA riders must purchase single-day membership for $5 or annual
Membership for $15. More information at www.obra.org or at the race.
Master/Women categories apply. Registration is located at the
start/finish area in the pit near the middle of the main grand stands.

May 7, 14, 21, 28; June 4, 11, 25; July 2, 9, 16, 23; August 6, 13, 20,
27; September 3, 10
START TIMES:
Women: 6:15
All other Masters Cat/Ages: 6:30-6:35
DISTANCES, CATEGORIES:
Note: Distances can vary from week to week; they will be announced at
staging or at registration.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Flat 1.9-mile loop, wide road with excellent
pavement, closed to traffic.
Categories:
May and July: Age Graded Masters (ages 30-39, 40-49, 50+) and Women
(Open)
June and August: Category Masters (Cat 1,2,3 , 4, 5 and Masters 50+) and
Women (Open)
September: Masters and Women (Open), handicap format, TBA
PRIZES:
Series prizes will be awarded at end of series (end of the month) for
each category. Prizes (Gift Certificates) are non transferable, and do
expire. Prizes not claimed 2 months within winning them will be voided.
Gift Certificates are to Lakeside Bicycles, in form of 1st: $20, 2nd:
$15, 3rd: $10.
Important note: Babysitting will be made available, please contact me
for scheduling and more information. ANSI-Snell Helmets Required, All
OBRA Racing Rules Apply, and NO Aero Bars Allowed!
