The current data for road and track racing is:

# of days of racing 178

# of events 43

# of organizers 30

For mountain bike racing the numbers are:

# of days of racing 26

# of events 22

# of organizers 16

I agree with Glen.

To Obra land

I was looking at my Oregon race schedule to day and counted at best 22

Promoters for road, track, etc. and some where around 170 races. This is not

counting MTN bike events. We need to start telling these people what we do

like about there races instead of what we think they should or not of done.

We lose one Promoter we lose how many races. Do the math and keep your bad

opinions to your self.

Sincerely, Glen

Good pt, Glen. I grew up racing in Wyoming and our big event was the

Casper Classic, at one pt one of the biggest stage races in US. One yr it

ceased to exist. Why? The promotor claimed "I realized after an arrogant

rider called me an SOB several times over some petty thing, that I didn't

have to do this". So he didn't. And the raced died. Most people don't

realize these things come down so often to just one person who ultimately

makes it all happen. TOW exists because Larry makes the sacrifices to put

it on! So, I think your point is well-taken...share your positive thoughts

and at least be tactful and considerate with your "suggestions" for

improvement. And anyone who thinks promotors are in it for the money...HA!

You can tell the riders who have promoted, officiated, or been directly

involved with promoting a race just by how they handle themselves towards

the organizers. They understand...it is a tough job and deserves respect.
