WEST LANE ROW, RIDE AND RUN -- JULY 20, 2002 - 9 A.M. (20-Mile Long Course), 10 A.M. (9-Mile Fun Race)
This unique, multi-sport event is modeled after the popular "Pole, Pedal, Paddle" held in Bend each
year. This race, however, is designed for summertime fun. Both events start at Richardson Park at
Fern Ridge Reservoir 16 miles northwest of Eugene and 5 miles north of Veneta, Oregon. The finish is
at at Veneta Elementary School. The Long Course Kayak/Canoe leg is 3 miles; the ride is 14 miles;
and the run is 5 kilometers (3.1 Miles). The Fun Run legs are: 1.5 miles, 6 miles, and 1.5 miles.
There are individual and team divisions. Categories are male, female, and coed. Entry fee is $25 or
minimum pledge per person (includes a commemorative T-shirt). Age and division awards and great
random drawing prizes that include a kayak, whitewater raft trip, Veneta Health Club membership and
