This message is just a friendly reminder about the race with a couple of

clarifications that need to be made....

Please read all the notes and pass the word to everyone.

1)       The race is on SATURDAY, October 19th

2)       It is a standard 'Cross Crusade race for all categories except

Men's A/ Espoirs, Women's A and Juniors.

3)       Elite Men's A/ Espoirs, Elite Women's A and Juniors categories will

require a USCF license to race those categories. USCF Licenses (day and

yearly) will be made available at registration. Elite Men/ Espoir's that

want to get UCI points are req'd to carry an "international license" through

the USCF. These licenses will also be made available at registration for

those who want them.

4)       Masters 35+ category will race at their standard time, despite what

you might have previously read on the on-line flyer @

www.crosscrusade.com/PDXraceflyer.htm

<http://www.crosscrusade.com/PDXflyer.htm> (flyer being amended right now).

5)       We sold out of beanies last week at the race, but there are a more

for sale at River City Bicycles, along with the wool ball caps. We have

more ordered to be at the race on Saturday as well.

www.crosscrusade.com/swag.htm <http://www.crosscrusade.com/swag.htm>

6)       We have a national caliber field coming to this race and the

national press will be covering it (ie- Velonews, etc).........lets talk it

up and bring out as many racers and spectators as possible! Also, temporary

tattoo's are available to adorn your body parts- wear them with pride- be

creative- maybe you'll get your photo on the internet.

7)       This Saturday's race is the 2nd race of the 4 race Grail De La

Grunge Cup. Right now, Portland is up 1-0 over Seattle. Come on out and

support our heavy hitters as they endeavor to let Seattle know who is boss.

The Grail itself will be unveiled on Saturday.....it is a fine piece created

by the local artisans at Resource Revival.

8)       The Seattle crew is putting on a UCI race on Sunday, Oct. 20th.

Many of the same players will be in attendance battling for more cash and

UCI points. Should be a good show (not quite as good as ours of course) for

those of you who want to travel. It is also the 3rd race of the Grail De La

Grunge, so we have reason to travel to defend our lead.

Talk it up- Bring your friends and neighbors. Expose them to the fine sport

we all know and love.
