One Sentence Description:

WHAT IT TAKES shows the dedication, technology and commitment that it

requires of a professional bicycle racer told through interviews with two of

Americas youngest top racers in their quest to be champions.

Professional bicycle racing in America is primarily an underground, unknown

and foreign sport. Despite having some great top racers that have competed

in Europe and won some of the worlds biggest bicycle races, it is still not

recognized. WHAT IT TAKES ? a ride with the prime alliance cycling team, a

short (13min) documentary film, shows the dedication, training,

art/technology and passion of two racers. By focusing on two of the top

young racers in America we get a view of the commitment it takes to be a

bike racer. Danny Pate and Michael Creed, team members of the Prime Alliance

Cycling Team, are these dedicated individuals. The journey with these riders

is not alone; others that share their passion are Ken Whelpdale, team

mechanic and Kirk Willet, team manager. With the combination of stories and

footage from the team members, staff racing and training rides, this film

provides a rare look into the world of professional bicycle racing. WHAT IT

TAKES confirms that bicycle racing is something that we can all relate to no

matter how foreign or underground a sport it is.
