Racing returns for the second year to downtown Eugene for the 2003 Eugene
Celebration Cycling Classic Including a Kids Fun Race!
The Eugene Celebration Cycling Classic has grown to be one of the most
exciting events of the year. In years past it drew racers from the NW,
including Canada and California. What a better way to celebrate this top NW
cycling event, and The Eugene Celebration than to include kids for a Fun
Kids Race!
The Fun Kids Race, which is free, will take place in the middle of the
racing schedule on Sunday September 21st at 11:30am. Kids and their parents
should meet at registration area at on north side of Skinner?s Butte Park on
Cheshire Rd (at skinner butte park loop rd junction). Parking is along
Cheshire Rd and East Skinner Butte Parking lot. Or kids and their parents
can take advantage of the great path system of Eugene and ride your bikes to
the event, which is easy access from the South River Bank Bike trials and
other River Bank trails. The course for the kids, which is closed to
traffic, will be run along Cheshire Ave near Skinner Butte Park Loop Rd. The
kid?s racecourse will be set up with cones and done on laps according to age
level. We will group kids by 0-3, 4-5, 6-8, 9-11years old. All kids
participating will receive a Kids Race Participant Ribbon, special kid?s
prize drawing ticket and goodie bag. All kids are welcome, any age and
ability. So bring the kids downtown and be part of the action of bike
racing.
