The Eugene Celebration takes place every year for the community to gather
together and celebrate the uniqueness that is Eugene. The three-day event
held on the streets of downtown Eugene takes place on September 19-21.
In addition to outstanding musical performances, the festival includes
activities from the Mayor's Art Show and the Salon des Refuses to the
Celebration Cycling Classic, Celebration Run, KidZone, Pet Parade, and the
ever popular Celebration Parade.
Music and entertainment are what the Eugene Celebration is all about. A few

Eugene Celebration Launches New Discount Program for Advance Admission
Buyers
In the past, Celebration attendees have been given the opportunity to buy
their support buttons early for a discounted rate on admissions. With the
new admissions wristband being implemented this year, your support button
not only serves as a commemorative piece, but also has the added benefit of
discounts from 25 local merchants. Simply wear your support button for a
discount on products and services from August 1 through September 18, 2003.
The new discount program was created to offer more community businesses the
opportunity to participate in the annual Celebration. The program also
increases the benefits for early admissions buyers, giving more incentive to
purchase prior to the Celebration.
Examples of available discounts include 50% off breakfast at Caf? Lucky
Noodle, 10% off total purchase at Brushfire and 20% off remanufactured
cartridges at Redundant Cartridge.
Other local discount locations include Bagel Sphere, Big Town Hero, Caf?
Paradiso, Cardae Flowers and Gifts, Eugene Emeralds Baseball Club, Eugene?s

Eugene Celebration Ambient Entertainment
This year?s Eugene Celebration, held September 19-21 will feature
experienced ambient entertainers. World-class vaudeville, circus, and
street theatre performances will take place throughout the weekend.
Scheduled performances will include the following artists:
* Crow ?Hillbilly Willy?: A veteran of past Eugene Celebration?s, Willie?s
musicianship and antics are unique.
* Derrick Smith: The ?Robot Guy? returns from Northern California to amaze
with his mime and robotic abilities.
* Jason McPherson: This is Jason?s second year with the
Celebration. He contorts his body into impossible forms, balances on top of
impossible things, and manipulates objects in impossible ways.
* David Kelly: Local 20 year-old Eugenian, returns to entertain with his
infectious and charming comedy and juggling.
* Dana Smith and his dogLacy: Returns from San Francisco to captivate with
his family-style juggling, comedy and acrobatics. He and his dog have been
featured in past celebrations and festivals all over the world.
* Alex Elixir: World-class Canadian entertainer, Alex is an award winning,
internationally acclaimed funnyman, event consultant and circus instructor.
The performers will be featured at various sites around downtown Eugene.
Look for them at 8th and Willamette (in front of Jacobs Gallery), Olive and
Broadway, the Parcade and the Oregon Electric Station.
EUGENE?S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING CELEBRATION JOINS THE EUGENE CELEBRATION
The Eugene Health and Well-Being Celebration has been asked to join the
Eugene Celebration this year. The event continues to be free and will take
place September 20-21 in downtown Eugene on Broadway between Olive and
Charnelton.
The Health and Well-Being Celebration?s seventh year in Eugene will feature
holistic health and fitness providers, products and services, those involved
in spirituality and ancient traditions and information on personal growth
techniques. The event will also include healers, workshops and
demonstrations, and information on innovative and preventive allopathic
medicine. There will be new age products, crafts, intuitive/psychic
readers, fitness professionals, and quality natural food booths.
This year, the event will introduce the Spirit Stage in the Atrium Lobby
featuring free music and entertainment.
The Green Medicine Herbal Conference will present 12 of our areas most
respected herbalists. They will be presenting free one-hour classes on a
wide range of topics including: Herbal Infant Care, Intro to the Spiritual
Properties of Herb, Protecting Your Immunity, Water as Medicine and much
more. The conference will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2003, from 11
a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Atrium building.
Free Lectures and Workshops are held throughout the weekend with topics
including yoga, tai chi, nutrition, metaphysics, alchemical healing and
wellness. Music, entertainment and demonstrations will be presented on
stages throughout the Eugene Celebration.
