It has been rumored around town that the Grail De La Grunge has returned

home to Portland Oregon. At first, I did not believe it could be since

Seattle won it fairly last year, and generally keeps the Grail under lock

and key. However, this story from Seattle proves that it is absolutely

true- the grail was indeed stolen.

Reportedly, the Grail has been paraded around town in a whirlwind homecoming

tour of sorts. Apparently it has been seen at the Oregon Zoo, several local

pubs, dinner at Vera's house, the Rose Garden (until it was mistaken for

Stoudamire's bong) and getting a machiatto doppio at Torrefazione. If

anyone out there is aware of the whereabouts of the grail, please make sure

it makes its way to Alpenrose on Sunday so that we can all celebrate its

triumphant return home to Portland.

FWIW, the first Grail De La Grunge race was last Sunday in Seattle.

Portland and Seattle battled to a draw (the men from PDX and the women from

Seattle won their respective races- although, I guess that technically,

Seattle leads on points). Grail De La Grunge #2 will be fought this Sunday

at Alpenrose. Come out and support the men and women Crusaders in their

battle against Seattle!
