DIRECTIONS:
From I-5 take exit #306b west. The racetrack is located immediately west of
the freeway.
REGISTRATION:
Registration area opens at 5:00pm.
All Non-OBRA riders must purchase single-day membership for $5 or annual
Membership for $15. Out of state racers can waive single day fee. More
information at www.obra.org <http://www.obra.org/> or at the race. You can
join OBRA at race. Registration is located at the start/finish area in the
pit near the middle of the main grand stands.

May 3, 10, 17, 24, 31; June 7, 14, 21, 28; July 5, 12, 26; August 2, 9, 16,
23. No September races for 2004.

DISTANCES
Distances can vary from week to week depending on daylight/field
sizes/weather conditions; they will be announced at staging, at registration
or OBRA email lists. Averages are the following: Masters Novice (Cat. 5):
8-12 miles, Masters 1,2,3s: 30-50 miles; 4,5s: 20-30 miles, Women: 15-20
miles; Masters 50+: 15-20 miles.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
It is a flat 1.9-mile loop, wide road with excellent pavement, closed to
traffic. PIR is a great place to learn about bike racing and try out on a
circuit that is closed to traffic. Plus you get to ride your bike on a car
racetrack!
CATEGORIES/SCHEDULE:
Masters Novice Group is for any Master Racer Aged 30+ that just started
racing. We classify this group as Cat. 5. This novice group is reserved for
new racers just learning and have competed in 5 or less races. This group
will have mentors, that are experienced racers/coaches from the Lakeside
Bicycles/Fred Meyers Cycling Team, ride with this group for part of the
races.
Masters category groups are for any Master Racer Aged 30+ Category 1-5 as
follows: May and June - Cat 1,2,3 , Cat 4,5 and Masters 50+. July and August
? Masters 30+ Cat 1,2,3 , Cat 3,4,5 and Masters 50+.
Categories are open for all women. All abilities and ages welcomed and
encouraged! New women racers are especially appreciated. Monthly series
points will score Cat 1,2,3 , Cat 4,5 and Masters 35+ women separately.
Please make note of your category on registration. Results for the night
will be based on open (all) women.
KIDS EVENT:
In July and August at 7pm we will be running a non competitive, fun ride for
all kids under 13yrs. Event will be $2 (insurance charge) and you just got
to show up with Bike and helmet, ready to have fun! Thanks to Geri Bossen
and Family for helping organize.
Every kid that shows up will get a participant ribbon for riding.
We will set up cones and a course inside the racecourse near where we do
registration. It will be supervised.
ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION/CARPOOL DISCOUNTS:
As in past years racers that commute the race by bike get a discount of
$1.00 off entry fee but this year the offer gets better. We are proud to
announce that each racer that car-pools (with 1 or more other racer(s)
attending event) or takes the NEW Tri-Met Interstate Max Line to the races
receives that same deal/discount (proof required). That $1.00 gets donated
to the Bicycle Transportation Alliance (BTA). More info on BTA is at

PRIZES:
Great gift certificate prizes provided by Lakeside Bicycles! Series prizes
will be awarded at end of each month series for each category. Prizes are
NON TRANSFERABLE, and do expire. Prizes not claimed 2 months within winning
them would be voided.
Gift certificates are in the form of 1st: $25, 2nd: $20, 3rd: $15. There
will be many cash and gift certificate prizes per night! See OBRA email list
