Mike Ripley
Hello all, I have been getting a few e-mails pertaining to the
vagueness of the course distances. Doing this for the 9th time I dont
trust the weather and I usually make it to hard for most this early in
the season. My idea of a perfect distance for classes are as follows
Pro-elite winning time 2hrs
Expert winning time 1:45
Sport winning time 1:30
Beginner Winning time 1:15
Of course the most will finish anywhere up to 30 minutes (usually)
after the winner in there class.
I will have the distances after this weekend. I was out with Barret
(the roadie) clearing the trails and tree pushing ( kinda like cow
tipping). The course rocks! and is the best I have put together out in
blodgett. The rain hasent really made adent in the course and it is
very ridable. ( No pushing your bike up muddy hills or trails. Any mud
is on the downslope) As far as the registration on saturday before the
race I thought peak closed at 7pm but they close at 6pm. So if you want
to register saturday and have a license from OBRA come by from 3-6 pm
at Peak sports. It will save you a little hassle the day of the race but
I do have a substantial volunteer group to help. Also to note there is
no senior expert women class only beginner, sport and pro/elite unless
there is 4 or more. The course is the same for the pro-elite women and
expert if there are enough women to split them up. The same goes for
singlespeed women. In the Oregon series there is a class and I will
have a class for them if 4 show up ( cool idea ). Please feel free to
e-mail me with your questions. This year looks like there is an insane
amount of racing going on. Its time to have some fun.
