Randy Dreiling
Hello All
I have been getting a lot of e-mails about the
12 Hours of Willamette Pass Cross Country
The race is August 21st 8am-8pm
There are a number of classes to pick from,
solo, two and four person teams.
The pass is a great place for this race...there are
some nice trails around the resort to use and the
lodge is great for hosting the event.
The same day there will be a Ultra Trail run event
going on at the same time but of other trails...The
Where's Waldo? run is a 100K trail run that cover 3
peaks...it is the Cascade Cream Puff 100 of trail
races.
It should be a really great race for people of ALL
skill levels. The goal is to see all kinds of people
and teams out there... four people beginner teams to
teams of all Pro/Elite racers...all women teams...solo
beginners see what they can do to Pro's trying to get
as many laps as they can and get faster each lap.
The goal is to have a great fun race for everyone and
in the next 2 years or so make this into a race where
you can race 12 or 24 hours! We want to make sure we
have this multi hour race thing nailed down before
moving onto a 24 hour race, but if all goes well it
will happen in next couple years.
You can camp at Willamette Pass in the parking lot or
off in the tree's...the Forest Service charges
Willamette Pass for every overnight camping spot, but
it is small fee. The lodge is open from 7am-10pm with
food, rest rooms and other stuff. They have gondala's
on in place of ski chairs in the Summer and it is
great ride and the veiw is awesome if you get a chance
to take it...the passes cost $12 to ride all day.
You can download a flyer at www.obra.org, I can mail
you a flyer and you should get one with your OBRA
number...I will be at all the races with flyers for
this and other events.
So mark your calendars now!
Please let me know if you have any questions
Thanks
Randy
