Rehearsal Road Race (5/30)- Race Notes & Reminders

2004-05-23

This coming Sunday (May 30th) is the Rehearsal Road Race. We have a

full day of racing for everyone to enjoy, including awarding State

Championships in four different categories (see text flyer and/or link

below). The State Championship Road Race follows a couple of weeks

later on June 13th.

I still need volunteers! If you (or a loved one) want to race for free,

just provide me with a couple/few hours of labor. I really need corner

marshals for both the morning and afternoon sessions. Let me know if and

when you can help out and I'll get you plugged into a slot.

The OBRA neutral support wheels will be at the race. We still need you

to bring spares! I won't reiterate what Mike Murray has stated

previously about neutral wheel support- other that to say if you don't

understand how wheel support works, go back and read his messages from

the past week- he's spot on.

Tandem Note: If you are planning on racing a tandem, please drop me a

note this week and let me know. I really want to ensure we have enough

to run this category.

Lastly, I wanted to mention that Bill Parker (formerly of Beckwith

Bicycles) will be present at both Rehearsal and the State Championship

races to offer his mechanical services on site for those in need. Bill

has opened Parker Frameworks at 7860 SE Foster Rd on 79th between Foster

& Harold streets. Parker is a custom frame builder specializing in

building frames, doing Steel frame repairs, tune ups and repairs on all

makes and models of bikes. You can reach Bill at 503 774-2441.
