It is June and the snow is gone in the Elkhorn's..time to race! Just a reminder that there are no registration opportunities after June 20th for the 2004 Elkhorn Classic Stage Race! Clint Chase, Byrne Specialty Gas will be back to defend his title in the Master's 40+ category. Heather Albert, Team Basis, is looking to keep her string of victories alive in the women's Pro 1/2 field as well. I have not heard from Team Webcor on whether they will be coming to defend their victory in 2003 but the men's pro 1/2 field will be loaded with strong regional teams.
Last years winner of the cat 3 race, Troy Heithecker, has moved up into the men Pro 1/2 field and continued his winning ways. The 2004 cat 3 field winner will surely be ready to move on to the next level as the Elkhorn brings out the best in this field.
This will be the first year offering a men's cat 4/5 field. It is looking strong both in numbers and riders. I am sure it will be a competitive group. Remember that finishing the Elkhorn is an awesome accomplishment.
We need more women to ride in the Elkhorn. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions on how to make that happen please share them with me. There are two categories offered: Pro 1/2, and 3/4. They will ride together but will be scored separately.

It is $5.00 per night per person and is a fund raiser for the girl's volleyball team available June 24th, 25th, and 26th.
