Alpenrose Velodrome Challenge

Portland, Oregon -- July 16-18: Elite track cyclists will converge upon

the outdoor track at the Alpenrose Dairy Velodrome, 6149 SW shattuck

Road, for a three-day racing extravaganza. Don't miss this free event!

Enjoy food, exhilirating entertainment and the opportunity to shop for

heavily discounted cycling attire while watching top athletes perform.

See national and international athletes, Olympians, and local elite

riders competing for track records and big cash prizes. Bring the kids

and stay all day. The Alpenrose Velodrome Challenge is a

family-oriented event.

Sponsored by the Alpenrose Dairy, Station WB32, Courtyard Marriott, Carr

Subaru, and the Oregon Bike Racing Association (OBRA), this event is

sure to please sports fans. Sessions run throughout the day beginning

at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 16th. You'll see sprints, long distances,

strategic races, and team events. Children are welcome to participate

in the Kiddie Kilo races at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday; just bring

a bike and a helmet. National champion trials rider, Jeremy Van

Schoonhoven, will perform amazing stunts following the morning session

and before the afternoon session on Saturday and Sunday.

This is an American Velodrome challenge series event -- one of the

largest prize lists in North America. It is a great spectator event,

and it is FREE for spectators!
