There still seems to be some confusion about what your racing age will
be for the US Cyclocross Championships.??YOUR RACING AGE?FOR NATZ IS
YOUR 2005 RACING AGE.? the USAC ruling is new this year and is not a
"guideline" but rather a hard and fast rule.? It is intended to bring
the US in line with the rest of the world with regards to cyclocross
racing ages.? So, to clarify:? subtract your year of birth from 2005 and
you will have the age you are to?register for the HealthNet US
Cyclocross Championships.
Here is the actual rule (cut and pasted from USA Cycling rules):?
1A14. A rider's racing age shall be his or her age on December 31 of the
current year. All references to age of riders, race age groups, or age
class shall be interpreted as referring to racing age. The following
terms refer to specific age groups.
Racing Age Age Group
Under 10 Youth
10?18 Junior
19?22 Under 23
23?29 Elite
30+ Master
However, a rider's cyclocross racing age shall be his or her racing age
on the first of January that is included in the same cyclocross season.
To be clear ? all racing ages for the 2004 USCF Cyclo?cross National
Championships will be based on a riders racing age as of January 1,
2005.
