YES you do need an endorsement for any scooter over

50cc's (mopeds are under 50cc's). Most Vespas

including this one are 90cc and up. My gf found out

the hard way with a $250 fine along with a $250 tow

bill (they made her walk home) in Lake Oswego last

summer even though she did have insurance on the

scooter. Actually the cop pulled her over as he didn't

even think they were street legal.:)

Depending on the size of the engine, you do not need

a motorcycle ENDORSEMENT on your existing drivers

license. But you do need a drivers license.

You will need insurance, and be careful as

motorcycle insurance does not "follow the vehicle"

like car insurance does. Motorcycle insurance

insures the named person only, so if I lend you my

scooter, unless you also have motorcycle insurance,

you are probably riding uninsured, :-(

That said, Vespa's are fun, and someone should buy

it!

I have a brand spanking new Vespa (only 14 miles on

it from taking the kids around the block) for sale.

It is black and very sleek looking and would be

great to motor behind for those really fast team

training rides. The local dealer sales this Vespa

Piaggio for $3500. I am going to be putting it up

for sale for $2800 but to the OBRA members I will

let it go for $2500 obo for a quick sell. You do not

need a motorcycle license to drive this Vespa and it

gets 75 to 100 mpg (nice with gas well over $2.00

per gallon. If any are interested e-mail or call me

at 503-492-8777.   I can also send pics if you

e-mail me. Patrick
