Course: Pavement is good to excellent overall, starting with two (2)

smooth wide shouldered miles along the Scenic George Hwy, before turning

onto Larch Mt. road for three (3) miles of rollers before a steady slow

burn climb over the remaing 14.1 miles through old growth forest. Course

climbs 3,000' over the 16.4 mile total. The summit finish park features

an amazing and breathtaking view and is yours for a 300m walk up a paved

and gravel path from finish. Note: The final 50m to the summit includes

stairs but is worth the time and definitely the view.

Details: Descents on Larch can be cold and wet, be prepared. Plastic

bags will be provided or riders can bring their own gear (backpack food,

clothing, etc) for transport up to the summit for their return decent

back to the staging area. Riders needing assistance returning to the

staging area should contact the promoter prior to the event so

arrangements can be made.

Cost: Pre-registration is $15 ($5 per Junior, $20 per Tandem) and must

be postmarked one week (7 days) prior to race day.

Non-Pre or Day-of registration is $20 ($5 for Juniors, $25 for Tandems).

Pre-register and get your start time - then show up at your start time

and race. For all other riders, registration is opened from 8am - 9am

with category start positions filled on a first-come basis. Sign up

early as once all category positions are filled, non-pre-registration

riders will receive start times after all other riders.

Note: Proof of OBRA membership required. One day OBRA pass available for

$5. OBRA license waived for out of state.

Prizes: Ribbons are awarded 3 deep for all categories meeting the 5

entry minimum. Promoter reserves the right to combine fields for awards,

however scoring will remain by original category (since that's what OUCH

is all about)

Requirements: This is an OBRA sanctioned event. Helmets must be worn at

all times. This is a rural community inviting us to race. Please

exercise common sense, etiquette, and rules of the road. Permits are for

racing up the mountain only. Your return trip MUST follow the rules of

the road. Please contact the race organizer about any questions.

For Bicycle Racing's Future: You're an ambassador of our sport, please

act accordingly. Riders who blatantly disregard OBRA rules and conduct

will be sanctioned as deemed appropriate by the race organizer and chief

official.
