2005 Elkhorn Recap

Greetings,

I hope you have all arrived safely at home. My family and I are back in

Portland, tired yet thrilled with the 2005 race.

Thank you for making the trip to Baker City. Thank you for supporting the

volleyball team through the camping program and the spaghetti feed Friday

night. Thank you for supporting the local economy of a town that really

needs the support of events like the Elkhorn. Thank you for doing an

excellent job of discarding your empty water bottles in the feed zones and

not along the roads. The courses were much cleaner this year! Thank you

for an excellent night of criterium racing. Thank you for being safe on

your bikes. The last I heard the two injured master riders on Sunday were

treated and released from the hospital. We wish them both a fast recovery.

As I walked around the town this morning I heard nothing but positive,

grateful comments from the City and the downtown business community. You

all represented the bike racing peloton well. We appreciate the effort it

takes to get to the Elkhorn Classic and hope to always provide an event that

is "worth the trip".

A huge thank you to all of the volunteers, who are the ones that really make

it possible for us to play on our bikes in beautiful eastern Oregon.

Results will be posted soon at www.obra.org and www.elkhornclassic.com

Good riding and racing,

Nathan, Claire, Rachelle, Lauren, Samantha, and Garrett Hobson
