Martin
Folks,
I just finished the most amazing race I have ever done. It's the Co-Motion
Classic Tandem Stage Race down in Eugene, OR where the Co-Motion bicycle
company is located:
I could go on and on about the race and about how cool the organizers are
but instead I'll just give you a taste here and ask that you PLEASE consider
doing this event next year! You do NOT have to be a 'hard core' racer to
enter this event.
1) Here is the race web site:
http://www.co-motion.com/CCTandemRace.html
2) I know that there are LOTS of tandem enthusiasts in the NW and this race
has a category for everyone.
A - experienced racers
B - novice racers or fit recreational riders
C - parent/child teams, really recreational tandem riders, etc.
The As and Bs do five stages (prologue/road race/time trial/crit/circuit
race) and the Cs just two (time trial/circuit race).
3) One bike had the misfortune to break a spoke in their Rolf wheel. Not
only did Rolf Dietrich himself fix the wheel, he also drove the owner of
this wheel to his factory and back so that he could see it happen!
4) Another bike (the same one actually...) also had an issue with the rear
brake and the folks at Co-Motion fixed it on the spot. And when they
crashed in the crit, Co-Motion again took the bike, fixed it up and
delivered it to the start line the next day!
5) There are showers at the end of the road race and a lake at the end of
the circuit race! What better to go with the free food you get at the end
of the circuit race? :)
Me? I hope to be back next year.
