2005 Cyclocross Season Opener

Hood River, OR

Kick off the cyclocross season in Hood River with Veloshop! Bring the

whole family and enjoy a beautiful late summer day in the Columbia River

Gorge.

Course

Located on the grounds of Hood River Valley High School, the course is

fast and technical, offering a solid mix of grass, rolling singletrack,

and asphalt. Please keep your bikes off the athletic fields!

Start Times

Racing starts late for those traveling. There will be a short warm-up

period on the course before each race.

11:30am Kiddy 'Cross Race (ages 4-7, 8-12) Grass course

12:00pm Juniors, Cat C, Masters 45+, Women 35+ 40 minutes

1:05pm Cat B Men & Women, Single Speed B 45 Minutes

2:05pm Cat A Men & Women, Masters 30+, Single Speed A 60 Minutes

Registration

$18 for Cat A, and $15 for all other categories. $10 for juniors. Kiddy

race is free. As part of Veloshop's commitment to Women in Cycling we

are offering a $9 entry for Beginner Women(Cat B). Come out and give

cross a try!!



Day-of registration opens at 10:30am, closing 15 minutes before each

race. No late fees! Checks payable to Veloshop.

Single Speeders

We're splitting you up into single-speed A, and single-speed B! You will

race with the A's and B's respectively.

Prizes

Men A: $250 7-deep

Women A: $250 7-deep

All other categories trophies/awards.

A special award will be given to the most aggressive rider of the day.

Directions

Race is at Hood River Valley High School. From I-84 East or West, take

exit #62. At the top of the off-ramp, turn right, then immediately turn

right again onto Country Club Road. Take the first left turn (less than

a mile) onto Frankton Road. Follow Frankton up the hill to the first

stop sign. At the stop sign, take a left on Belmont. Stay on Belmont to

the High School, which will be on your right. (Belmont change names to

Indian Creek Drive, but it should be pretty clear where you are).



If you are coming from Bend, Take Highway 35 to Odell, then follow signs

through Odell to Hood River/Tucker Road. Tucker Road will bring you to

Windmaster Corner. High School is straight ahead.
