Cyclocross Crusade 2005 is upon us...

"A modern day Icarus with cup of delicious darkly hot brew in hand to greet the day as the first fingered stabbings of dawn make their way through hazy, lazy misty wisps. Glittering bejeweled tributes to disposable income soon to be splattered into muddy skeletons of magic metals and composites...one ultimately indistinguishable from the other...mud becomes the mechanism of equality..." - 'Cross Crusade Scribe

The 2005 River City Bicycles Cyclocross Crusade starts this weekend at a brand new venue at the Hillsboro Stadium Sports Complex (see www.crosscrusade.com for more info). In years past, the 'cross crusade has become synonymous with good racing, fun and general frivolity. This year is no different. We have much more of the same on tap.

What is new:

This year we have dubbed the River City Bicycles Cyclocross Crusade Series as the "Dutch Masters Edition" (as 'cross worlds are in the Netherlands). The Cyclocross Crusade with a Dutch twist.

- Dutch Word Jumble (Why? cuz we think its fun)

- Double points if you race in wooden shoes (a wooden shoe modification "how to" pictorial will be posted soon)

- Limited Edition Art Prints from the Dutch masters (anyone would be proud to frame and display these fine works of art)

- New and improved 'Cross Crusade swag and wearables (we even have our own brand of clothing now.....'X-Dress')

- Electronic chip scoring (Yup- real time results, lap splits...the whole shebang. A follow-up email with more info is forthcoming)

- Crusade Chat (Go talk all things 'cross on our chat board. Highly entertaining and sometimes its actually informative. www.crosscrusade.com)

- Mud, glorious mud (it has been awfully warm and dry lately. I wonder if there will be any mud this weekend?)
