As everybody is probably wondering what just happened and why Jay Debender

is such a lucky guy - here's the scoop.

Jay was riding up Broadway in the bike lane when a glass truck pulled out in

front of him - both Jay and the truck where going about 10 MPH and neither

saw each other until it was too late.

Jay only had maybe 3 feet in which to make a decision whether to grab the

brakes hard and go over the handle bars or to crash into the panes of glass

that was on the truck - Jay grab the brakes and went over. Unfortunately the

short stopping distance sent his head under the truck's rear wheel and as

the truck rolled the force & weight of the truck crushed Jay's helmet which

forced his head to pop out of the helmet - which is what saved his life.

Jay is recovering at home, he has a broken elbow, 35 stitches in his

forehead and a big bump, a possible broken hand, banged up knees and one

bruised ankle. But he is alive......thanks to his helmet. Drop him a line if

you can he would really appreciate it.

Cheers
