Re: pepper spray

Steve, I'm a pepper spray dealer. I tried it on myself and a couple dogs
with mostly good results. It worked great on me and the dogs but seems to
have no effect on attack geese.
Check the wind conditions before firing!
If any OBRAs want this stuff, I can bring some to the Eugene swap and I'll
be 1st aid at some races. You can always contact me directly too.

Hormann, Douglas J.

2006-03-03

Pepper Spray (OC) has been, in my experience, extremely effective
against dogs. Their heightened olfactory sense is acutely sensitive to
OC and they will usually run away with tails tucked between their legs
at the slightest wiff. People on the other hand are a mixed bag and I've
known it to work well on some people and hardly at all on others,
usually when drunk or high. Since there is no telling what a methed
individual might stop at I will say, categorically, that whenever
possible you should first use your best sprint skills (then call the
police) in a situation such as what David found himself in on Kaiser Rd.

I haven't read the entire string on this, but isn't
sicking an animal towards a person a form of assault?
felony?

I saw this one catalog where they offered this rather sizable can of pepper
spray suitable for stopping bear attacks. Apparently it was the only kind
approved by the Fish and Wildlife Department or some government agency like
that for such use.

I say drunk arsehole hillbillies deserves the best!!

I found a page with something that makes similar claims.
Looks like this stuff could stop an entire hillbilly family!

I've ridden and run in many places and a few countries, so some folks think that I am a hillbilly. When you actually pepper spray somebody's dog, they may think that you are an asshole. We can live with that, because aggressive animals are a threat. We ignor any negative feedback, because we have a right to defend ourselves. Don't second guess yourself. When threatened, shoot straight and fast. The next time you see this dog, she will probably avoid you.

There are several sizes, intensities, and brands. I usually like a mid range intensity, that can be used several times. Do a test run. Some of the spray may hit you too, so be aware. Bi-Mart caries a good spray for a fair price at the gun counter. In other states, this may be more difficut to find. Try K-Mart.

In the "thinner" states, it's easier to find. Go figure?
