Cascade chainbreaker

I rode with Marcel today. The Chainbreaker course is in excellent shape. It
was snowing, but not really sticking, so there is no snow on the course.
There are a few new sections that Marcel has put in because of logging which
will be ridden in just fine by next Sunday. Checked the GPS today to make
sure our distances were right with all of the recent additions. The starter
loop is 3.5 miles, and the lap is roughly 11.5 miles. So beginners (Cat 3)
will go 15 miles, All Cat 2, SS, Tandems, Cat 1 Jr, Cat 1 45+, Pro Women and
Cat 1 women will go about 26.5miles, and the Pro Men and Cat 1 Men 19-44
will go just a hair over 38 miles when all is said and done. I'm sure it'll
start to get dusty in a week, but it was great today! Marcel will be marking
the course next Friday night, so you can pre-ride it on Saturday before
packet pickup. Weather is finally starting to look nice next week.

Feel free to email me if you have any questions about the race.

David, anyplace in Bend will do as far as lodging. The course is on the

Hello Obra,

Anyone have some information about the Chainbreaker? The wife and I are
looking to get a hotel room the night before and want to know if it is just
a case of staying in Bend (anywhere will do), or is there someplace closer?
Also, the place should be dog friendly.

In addition, any info about the course and where it specifically is would be
helpful as well.

Thanks for the help.

Dave
