Yes, George and Terri put on great events, I have done RAO 6 times with them
at the helm and they always make racing fun.....
Did George and Terri give out any big Salami's????
Or are they saving that for RAO......
Is there any ladies teams this year for RAO???
I know of one, the Sharks are taking a year off and we are crewing for the
lady Sorella Forte Sharks.....They are getting ready and I think some of the

I concur.
Racing is not a full-time job for me; I do it for fun and for the
community environment. What keeps me going in bicycle racing is
interesting races. Mt. Hood Cycling Classic is interesting because of
the prologue, a-la European pro races. Jack Frost ITT is interesting
because that is an interesting way to start the road racing season, and
usually 400 people show up just to do the race??! Mt. Tabor is
interesting because it is a weekday race series that goes up a volcano
in a great city park. Kings Valley is interesting because we get to see
Evan Elkan wear a crown after he kills us all. I am sure I will find
interesting mtn. bike races whenever I finally repair my mtn. bike.
Deschutes River Valley is interesting because it is a 3 stage ITT race.
It is a race where the best athlete will truly win. And if you are not
the best athlete when you show up for this race, you certainly will be a
better athlete when you leave. People with any type of running,
tri-athlete, or even power-lifting background can understand this. It
is located in a beautiful area, barely two hours away from Portland,
maybe an hour away from Bend, maybe 2.5 hours away from Eugene, yet
out-of-the-rain (I heard it was supposed to rain in the Portland area
this past Saturday). Kenny Williams, the guy that last lost a ITT to
only David Zabriske, came down from Seattle just for this racing
experience. The courses are not as bad as it might have sounded on
course description. I think maybe 12 cars passed me during all 3 of my
races, and half of those cars were affiliated with the race in some
degree. George and Terri made the race laid back and fun from start to
end-prizes and are very passionate about putting a race like this with a
fun atmosphere.
I think people saw Jens Heycke's OBRA email about the lack of variety of
races that are nearby in the bay area. In the late February to April
time frame of the racing season down there, the average drive to get to
a race whether it be just a single roadrace or crit is 3 hours (that
time estimate includes a guaranteed traffic jam). People that leave
OBRA-land miss what we have here and people that join OBRA-land do not
want to go back to what they had where they used to live. I hope people
that have not experienced racing districts outside of OBRA take more
advantage of what we have here each OBRA racing schedule and the close
proximity all these races really are.
