Steve Larsen Storms Back To Competitive Mountain Biking

Two-time Mountain Bike National Champion and former Motorola road pro Steve
Larsen returned to his winning ways on the dirt by demolishing the Expert
19-39 field at the Cascade Chainbreaker, a local series race in Steve's home
of Bend. When asked after the race about this amazing feat, Steve said "Wow,
I had no idea those guys were so slow. I mean, I'm not a pro anymore - I
probably barely get in 20 hours a week on the bike - and I trounced them.
I'm pretty proud of that performance". Our intrepid reporter also managed to
ask Larsen what his plans were for racing off-road the rest of the season
and Steve expressed his desire to downgrade to Sport for the Reehers race to
"see if I can lap the whole field." Unfortunately, that's all our reporter
could get in because of all the sharp pointy lava rocks suddenly flying at
great velocity in Larsen's direction.
