MANY THANKS

Many thanks to all of you who in thought, word, or deed supported the Eric
Kautzky Memorial Track Race on May 13. It was a perfect day for the first
omnium racing of the season, with competition ample across nine categories.
Many of the 65 racers commented about how fast everyone already is for this
early in the track season. Plenty of sunshine certainly helps.

Between some great PR from KPTV Channel 12, rider participation, spectators,
OBRA officials, and our great sponsors, we are proud to announce that $2900
will be sent to the Eric Kautzky Memorial Scholarship fund at Tigard High
School. This scholarship will be awarded annually to a deserving high school
senior intending to major in sports medicine or the exercise sciences. Most
of you may recall that Eric was a recently retired Tigard High School
science teacher and athletic trainer. He lost his life last June 18th while
riding his bike on Tualatin-Sherwood Rd when he was hit from behind by an
18-yr old driver who fell asleep at the wheel.

Eric's family was also at Alpenrose last Saturday to watch the racing. His
wife Lorna and son Chris presented the omnium awards. Eric's mother was also
there from California, as well as other close family members. They were very
moved by the event and especially those of you who took some time to offer
your condolences and wish them well.

Thanks again for your support. Hope to see you there again next year!
