OK, so let's say some dumb ass is riding at night, no lights, no
reflectors. He/she proceeds through an intersection without stopping,
and gets creamed by someone in a car. Should the driver be blamed? Of
course not. The guy/girl was an idiot. People who do this do not
necessarily deserve to die, but someone has to take responsibility for
their actions. What about the poor driver of the car who has to live
with the memory of killing someone? Would you want that? We all see this
all the time, and most of the time the rider escapes any harm. But
people remember. Nobody ever cares about when things go right, but they
always remember when things go wrong.

We can talk all high and mighty and righteous, but we have to realize
most of the people on this list do not/would not (I hope) ride
that way. On the other hand, if you are one of those people who likes to
go out for road rides all geared up in your lycra but leaves your helmet
at home because it's too hot or it doesn't look cool, and you do
something stupid and you pay the price, well, fair's fair. You played
and you lost.

Can we end this now? I have better things to do and I'm sure you do too.

Ride smart. Don't give drivers a reason to want to kill another cyclist.
'Nuff said.

Now let's all get back to racing.
