Trust me on this, the OBRA numbers are not too big. The extra white space
gives visibility. I think that everyone ought to try placing finishers at
least once so they get a good handle on the problem. I did some time with a
clipboard and a pencil and I was not very good at it. I'm continually
amazed that the results are as accurate and timely as they are.
Consider the following: have one jersey for racing and put numbers on both
sides ( in a correct manner ) and leave them there. Sew them on or use lots
of stainless steel safety pins. They'll go through the washer with no fuss.
Cost: an extra jersey. Benefit: good fit all season and no "what side do
the numbers go on tonight?"
