Belt series, the weekly Tuesday night PIR series, the Mt. Tabor =

b.i.k.e/Serratto Junior Development Team, the Emerald Velo Club=20
(Safeway/Saturn), the Rose City Wheelmen (Masters), the Performance=20
Multisport team (triathlon/duathlon), W. A. M. (Women's Association =

Mountain Bikers), and the Bicycle Transportation Alliance.=20
Occasionally, an OBRA member or a member of a recreational club will=20
ask=20
us why they don't receive a discount at our shop. All I can say is, =
we=20
can't=20
offer discounts to everyone and continue to run a successful business.=20=
Instead, we offer very competitive prices to ALL of our customers=20
(including=20
local-shop price matching on all of our bicycles).=20
If you don't belong to one of our sponsored teams but would still =
like=20
to=20
get a discount, please join the Bicycle Transportation Alliance. This=20
outstanding nonprofit organization has been highly successful at =
improving=20
cycling conditions for ALL of us. We are proud to support the BTA, and =
we=20
offer discounts to all BTA members, regardless of what other clubs they =
do=20
or=20
don't belong to.=20
On another note, we have lately encountered a very small number of=20
racers=20
who have abused the relationship between our shop and the racing=20
community.=20
These incidents left such a bad taste in my mouth that I strongly=20
questioned=20
the value of our shop's commitment to bicycle racing. Nevertheless, =
we=20
decided to brush off these unfortunate incidents and not let a few =
bad=20
apples=20
spoil the barrel for everybody. We decided that as long as our shop =
does=20
well, we will continue to support the local racing scene.=20
Besides shopping here, is there anything you can do to help River =
City=20
Bicycles? YES!=20
We are looking for more bike rides for Volume 2 of "Rubber to the=20
Road,"=20
the guidebook of great local rides we published several years ago. =
Please=20
send us a map and/or directions to your favorite ride around the =
Portland=20
region. If we publish your ride, you'll get a $50 gift certificate to =

shop. All profits from the book will go to support the BTA and the=20
